Business Valuations

Business value. Your next decision.

A clearer basis for buying, selling or planning.

Business Boutique provides short-form and long-form business valuation reports. Start with a discussion of your business, the decision you need to make and the level of detail you require.

Start with the decision you need to make

01 / BUYING

Assess a business opportunity

Request a valuation to inform your assessment of a business you are considering buying. Tell us what is being acquired and what information is available.

02 / SELLING

Prepare for a sale discussion

Develop an informed starting point for discussing value before a proposed sale. Explain your intended transaction and preferred timeframe.

03 / PLANNING

Understand your starting point

Use a valuation engagement to support business planning. Share the decision you are working towards and the questions you want the report to address.

Short-form or long-form: agree the detail you need

Both formats are scoped written reports covering the valuation, method, assumptions and limitations. The appropriate format depends on the purpose, complexity and information available.

Short-form report

A concise presentation

A focused report presenting the valuation conclusion and key supporting explanation within the agreed scope.

Discuss this format when you need a shorter written report for the agreed buying, selling or planning purpose.

Long-form report

A fuller explanation

A more detailed presentation of the analysis, method, assumptions and limitations behind the valuation conclusion.

Discuss this format when the engagement calls for a more extensive written explanation.

Not sure which format to choose?

Choose “Please advise me” in the enquiry form. We will discuss the intended use and recommend a scope for you to consider. Fees and delivery timing are quoted for the agreed engagement.

From an initial discussion to a written report

  1. Tell us the purpose. Share your business type, location, objective and any deadline. You do not need to upload financial documents with the initial enquiry.
  2. Agree the engagement. We discuss the intended use, information needed, report format, fees and delivery timing before work begins.
  3. Provide the agreed information. The information requested depends on the business and scope. Any gaps or assumptions are considered as part of the engagement.
  4. Receive your report. The scoped written report sets out the valuation, method, assumptions and limitations for its agreed purpose.

Useful information for the first discussion

The business name and industry, whether you are buying, selling or planning, the type of records available, your report preference and any relevant deadline. We will agree how to share supporting documents later.

Connect the valuation to your next step

A valuation can be the starting point for a wider discussion about your business. Any additional service is scoped separately around your requirements.

Before you enquire

How much does a valuation cost?

Fees are quoted after discussing the purpose, scope, available information and report format. No fixed fee is assumed from an enquiry.

How long will the report take?

Timing is agreed for each engagement and depends on the scope and the information available. Include any deadline in your enquiry so it can be considered before work starts.

Does a valuation guarantee a sale price?

No. A valuation report does not guarantee a buyer, an offer or a completed transaction. Its conclusion is subject to the report’s purpose, assumptions and limitations.

Can I use the report for another purpose?

Reports are prepared for the agreed buying, selling or business-planning purpose. Tell us who will use the report and why before the scope is agreed; do not assume it is suitable for a different purpose.

Discuss your business valuation

Tell us what you need to decide. Shuaib Suleman will contact you to discuss the appropriate scope and report format.

Please keep this first enquiry brief. Supporting financial records can be requested and shared through an agreed channel after the initial discussion.
